The UCML Summer Plenary took place on Friday 10 July 2020 under the theme ‘Languages in/and Action: Developing New Special Interest Groups’. It addressed the work of UCML to support four key areas: Early Career Academics, the Year Abroad and virtual mobility, subject associations, and Routes into Languages.
We recognise, however, that departments and colleagues had major concerns around the impact of Covid-19 on the academic year 2020/21, in particular around online teaching, mobility, and research. We therefore created a discussion forum that ran concurrently throughout the day, and encouraged colleagues to contribute and ask questions they were keen to have feedback on from colleagues across the sector.
The forum is password protected, and an anonymised synopsis was shared by UCML after the Plenary.
