We are delighted to announce that the following applications were successful in the fourth round of the UCML Small Grants Fund. We recognise that given the current public health crisis the organisation of these events may have to be rethought, but we will continue to support them should they be postponed or redesigned.

We received eight applications and made awards to seven projects, amounting to £4970.

Project: To support the translation of journal articles by Portuguese-speaking authors from the Global South into English for publication in a special issue

Project: To support the development of a bilingual online platform offering language learning resources in Kgoyom Tutunakú (Totonac)

Anna Johnston, Dominique Carlini-Versini, Géraldine Crahay and Cynthia Tavars (Durham University)

Project: To contribute to the delivery of creative writing seminars as part of the ‘Creative writing project: Le Monde d’après’

Fransiska Louwagie (University of Leicester) in collaboration with Manu Bragança (UCD)

Project: To support bursaries for ECR respondents at the conference ‘Revisiting France and the Second World War: Contemporary Research Paradigms and Trajectories’

Becky Muradás-Taylor (York St John University)

Project: To support expanding the online ‘OurLOTE Project: Celebrating languages other than English

Ailsa Peate and Liz Harvey-Kattou (University of Westminster)

Project: To contribute to organisational costs for the ‘Inaugural Latin American Week: Heritage, Identity, and Human Rights’

Giuseppe Stellardi, Serena Vandi and Luca Mazzocchi (University of Oxford)

Project: To support the conference ‘Gadda Transmissions – An International & Interdisciplinary Project’, including development of podcasts
