The posts of Area Studies Representative and Germanic and Low Countries Representative on the UCML Executive Committee fall vacant at the end of January 2022. We are therefore calling for nominations of suitably qualified people for this role. The new representatives will be elected for a period of three years in the first instance, and may be re-elected for one further year.
Role profiles and nomination forms can be downloaded below: please complete a form with your statement and the names of Nominator & Seconder and return to the UCML Hon. Secretary, Dr Marcela Cazzoli, on marcela.a.cazzoli@durham.ac.uk no later than noon on Thursday 9th December 2021.
The Executive Committee meets twice a year, in person or online. Each representative is in charge of their sub-discipline or nation, and is required to submit a report at each Exec meeting (and, for the three nations, also Plenary meetings), which will be discussed at the meeting. Further detail is in the attachments.
UCML seeks to ensure a balance of sexes, regions and types of HEI (pre- and post-92) among the members of its Steering Group and Executive Committee.
Interested candidates are invited to consult the current representatives, Dr Frances Weightman (Area Studies) F.Weightman@leeds.ac.uk and Prof Allyson Fiddler (Germanic and Low Countries) a.fiddler@lancaster.ac.uk
