Following the call for nominations published 5th September 2022 and an election (held from the 13th October to the 18th October 2022), we are pleased to announce that the new Executive Committee representative for Classical Studies will be Dr Arlene Holmes-Henderson of Durham University.

Arlene is Associate Professor of Classics and Ancient History at Durham University where she teaches on the Latin with Classics PGCE course. She holds a doctorate in Classics education and is an expert in language education research, policy and practice. An advisor to governments in the UK and around the world on curriculum and assessment, she has won several awards for knowledge exchange and public engagement. Arlene is the Chair of the Classics Development Group, Vice Chair of the Classical Association Teaching Board and Classics representative on British Academy and AHRC national strategic committees. An Innovation Fellow of the British Academy, Arlene is currently researching the relationship between language study, social mobility and employability.
