UCML is pleased to invite you to its online winter plenary on 13 January 2023. To receive the link to join, please email mary.newman@trinity.ox.ac.uk. Following the business meeting in the morning, please join us for three afternoon panels presenting new developments in language teaching and research:
- The first panel will be an opportunity to discover and celebrate the brand new Languages Gateway, a key hub for language teachers, researchers and learners.
- The second panel will offer much-needed insights into the present and future landscape of PhD funding in the field of language study and related disciplines and will also introduce the exciting work of the two winners of the first UCML postgraduate bursary, awarded to projects that showcase the value of languages research to new audiences.
- In the final session, panellists from UCML and the British Academy will discuss the recently published report on granular trends in language learning: this report is a key publication shedding light on the current state of language provision and uptake in Higher Education in the UK.
