UCML is delighted to announce our new Honorary Treasurer, Olga Gomez-Cash.

Olga is Senior Teaching Fellow in Spanish and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Associate Dean, Education, at Lancaster University. She has taught French, Spanish and English languages and cultural history at universities across Europe for over 30 years. Olga has previously been UCML’s honorary Treasurer, having stepped down in 2021. We are looking forward to her joining us again.
Olga was one of the Advisory Group on the 2022 QAA LCS Benchmark Statement, and is presently leading on institution-wide projects to rethink study abroad in the climate emergency and to develop pedagogies and practices for well-being. She has held many roles supporting students’ personal and academic development and building an effective identity for HE languages, including Language Committee Chair, Study Abroad Advisor, Admissions Director, Head of Department, memberships of A-level Advisory Boards, and UCML Steering Group (2017-2021).
Olga is a long-standing advocate for languages policy, digital and work-based pedagogy, as well curriculum enhancement and development. She looks forward to ensuring UCML finances serve the regeneration of our academic discipline.
