UCFL is delighted to announce that our new Executive Committee Member for Italian Studies is Dr Alvise Sforza Tarabochia, Senior Lecturer in Italian, Head of School of Cultures and Languages at the University of Kent.
Alvise works on visual and material culture from a historical and transcultural point of view, with a special attention to the Italian area. He is currently working on a long term research project and his second monograph on the tropes of the visualisation of mental disorders across eras and cultures. Alvise has researched, lectured and published also in the fields of history and philosophy of psychiatry, Italian theory, biopolitics and Lacanian psychoanalysis. He is co-convenor of the Modern Languages Teaching Forum.
We look forward to working closely with Alvise at UCFL over the coming years.
