UCFL is strongly committed to supporting and giving a voice to all colleagues working in languages in Higher Education in Northern Ireland. Represented by Merryn Davies-Deacon, her role is to promote effective two-way communication between UCFL members in NI and the other UK nations.

It meets 2–3 times a year to discuss issues of interest, and is run by a committee with representatives from all Scottish HEIs, chaired by Fiona Barclay, Scotland’s Representative to the UCFL Executive Committee.
